HKTDC Education & Careers Expo to Open in Late February
Ample Opportunities Brought By 800+ Exhibitors

24 January 2017- The 27th HKTDC Education & Careers Expo will open on 23 February and continue through 26 February at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Expo is open to the public with free admission. Gathering over 800 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions, representing educational institutions, professional associations, government departments, public organisations and private companies, the Expo is an information hub for education and careers development.
Abundant Information on Local Education
Local universities and educational institutions including Vocational Training Council (VTC), Hong Kong Shue Yan University, Hang Seng Management College, The Open University of Hong Kong and YMC College of Careers, etc will provide abundant information on local education.
“Art & Creativity” Zone will be launched at the Expo with exhibitors such as Arts Education Section of Education Bureau, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Baron School of Music and Bridal Academy, etc. Visitors can get information on how to embark on the path of creative education.
New “International Exchange Village” Zone Presents Global Market Information
With strong presence of CG offices and officially recognised bodies at the Expo, the newly established “International Exchange Village” Zone will provide visitors with onsite consultation services on studying and working overseas. Participating CG offices include Bangladesh, Colombia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Iran, Korea, Mexico, Sweden and South Africa.
Education Theme Days to Find Favourite Institutions
To provide the latest information to students seeking to further their studies outside Hong Kong, the Expo’s education theme days will focus on the Chinese mainland (23 February), Japan (24 February), Europe (25 February) as well as Australia and New Zealand (26 February). Educational institutions’ representatives from these markets will introduce entry requirements, admission procedures and sharing of campus life.
Career Theme Days to Explore Direction

In light of the fast development in various industries, three new career theme days will be introduced, featuring Tech & Innovation (23 February), supported by VTC; Arts (24 February), co-organised by the Arts Education Section of Education Bureau; as well as Startup (26 February), supported by The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups.  The popular Electrical and Mechanical (25 February) theme day will return with ample information on studies, training programmes and career development in the industry.

Youth Zone Presents Vibrant Job Opportunities

The Youth Zone gathers various institutions to offer internship programmes and employment to teenagers. Among them, Labour Department will introduce a series of employment and working holiday programmes, while other organisations including CTC, The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, Hong Kong Youth Exchange Promotion United Association, Freshlinker and South China Morning Post, will provide  visitors with abundant job information. On-site recruitments will be conducted by the government departments, public organisations and private companies.

100+ Fascinating Events Celebrity Sharing In the Spotlight

Over 100 events will be arranged during the Expo.  Highlighted events include celebrity sharing sessions by Lau Ming Wai, Chairman of Commission of Youth, Chiong Ka Kei, Apprentice Jockey, and Shangrilayt, renowned Youtuber. Founders of F&B Startups like “Y Cocktail & Mocktail” and “Mak’s Beer” will also share their startup journeys.


Education seminar series cover practical tips on taking TOEFL and IELTS examinations. Dr Au Yeung Wai-Hoo (Ben Sir), Senior Lecturer at the Chinese Language and Literature Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Yan Yuk-ki, author and consultant for the 5 Stars Chinese Compositions Series will talk about Chinese writing skills in preparation for the local diploma of Secondary Education.

Besides, a series of Working Holiday related seminars will highlight the application requirements and job opportunities.
