Exhibitors' and Visitors' Comments
Exhibitors quotes:

“The exhibition offers a great chance for us to keep the public abreast of the cultural district’s latest development and the new venues coming on stream. A major highlight is a virtual reality (VR) presentation of the Xiqu Centre due for completion soon. The VR experience provides an exciting tour of the world-class arts venue. Two of our colleagues specialising in performing arts and visual arts have shared their career development with the audience at the Expo’s seminar. The response has been encouraging. The Expo provides a large-scale meeting place for us to reach out to a wider spectrum of audience. We’re pleased to be here raising the profile of the cultural district.”
Elaine Cheung, Head, Staffing and Development, West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, Hong Kong

“We have been participating in HKTDC Education & Careers Expo over the years to attract students. We are particularly keen to draw DSE students and let them understand the prospect of wedding planning, event planning and makeup & image-related businesses. Demand is strong for professional practitioners in the bridal and event planning arena. The Expo is a major annual event to expand our presence where we can meet students effectively. Extra incentives are offered to students taking our programmes during the exhibition."
Mike Wong, School Director, Bridal & Event Academy, Hong Kong

“A large number of students have come to our booth to get information. We offer extensive advice to help them understand better the differences between fine art and design studies so that they can choose subjects properly for further education. We also provide assistance to students wishing to pursue overseas studies. The Expo is an excellent platform to extend our reach to students. The feedback has been very positive.”

“The Expo is definitely an excellent platform for us to promote our new programme and reach out to youngsters and people wishing to pursue a career in early childhood education. Besides students, we target adults and English-speaking people interested in early childhood education. Some students have been already enrolled on the first day of exhibition. We’ve met with a large number of students and the response is better than expectation. This is a very successful event to raise our profile and draw students.”
Edmond MY Chan (centre), Assistant Manager, Communications & Public Relations, Yew Chung Community College

“As a long-time exhibitor of the Expo, Hong Kong Institute of Hotel Management is taking advantage of this annual event to raise our profile and promote our internationally-recognised hospitality management programme. We target particularly DSE graduates who are weighing their options for future. The Expo offers a good place for us to draw students. We can successfully enroll some students through on-site interviews every year. We always hope to see the Expo expand further to attract more visitors.”
Manho Choi, Consultant Manager, Hong Kong Institute of Hotel Management Limited

“HKTDC Education & Careers Expo has proved to be an effective platform for the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department to promote the E&M industry and recruit youngsters over the years. DSE graduates are among the young hopefuls we aim to recruit and our four-year Technician Trainee II training programme comes as a good choice for them. Our department recruited a total of 295 newcomers last year, of which a good percentage came from applications by visitors we found at the Expo. A larger number of young people have come forward again this year, and they can submit applications on the spot. We look forward to achieving even better results.”
Andy Kwan Kar-mun, Senior Engineer/Training, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region

“I am a Form 4 student in Hong Kong. This is my first visit to HKTDC Education & Careers Expo to acquire information about further education opportunities in overseas universities. I am coming together with my schoolmates and we found that the Expo is an amazing showcase with a lot of information about overseas education. There is a strong presence of overseas universities and educational institutions from different countries. I am especially interested in exploring further education opportunities in the USA. Several exhibitors have provided a great deal of information about various programmes available in USA universities. Psychology is my preferred programme. We will visit the Expo again.”
Alexan Li, Former 4 Student, Hong Kong

“The Expo is an exciting exhibition offering so many job opportunities in different sectors. This is my first-time visit and I found it very useful. I am now studying the Yi Jin full-time programme and will graduate next year. The Expo serves as an excellent platform for me to learn about the prevailing job market and to prepare for the future. I really like the impressive showcase of job offers with various government departments, in particular those with the disciplined forces. I am very keen to join the Hong Kong Police Force to serve and protect the community. I’ve already registered my interest with the police force and will submit an official application upon the completion of my studies next year. The job offers of Correctional Services Department are also attractive. I found the Expo very informative.”
Gary Leung, Job Seeker, Hong Kong

“I am visiting HKTDC Education & Careers Expo for the first time together with my friends to explore job opportunities. We learned about the Expo via Facebook. This visit proved to be very fruitful. There are so many government departments showcasing here with a lot of attractive job offers. I am most interested in the job openings with Immigration Department as well as Customs and Excise Department. The career prospect looks very good. I am seriously considering the options and will make up my mind upon the completion of my studies later this year. The Expo really helps me understand better the job market in order to plan ahead for the future.”
Coco Lam, Job Seeker, Hong Kong

“This is my first-ever visit to HKTDC Education & Careers Expo to find information about overseas education in Europe. I am particularly interested in exploring studies in Germany where quality education is being offered at relatively low tuition fees. I’ve also found some information about studying in the Netherlands and Austria at the exhibition. A major attraction of higher education programmes in Germany and the Netherlands is that students can apply to stay and work for one year after graduation. This is a very rewarding visit. I will seriously consider the options.”
Yeung Pak Chau, Retailing Service Practitioner, Hong Kong
