“Established in 1991, Microdia is a leading manufacturer of flash memory products. We have been participating in the Hong Kong Electronics Fair for 18 years and also the Hong Kong Pavilion organised by the HKTDC at overseas trade shows. With the help from the HKTDC, our products are now sold in 135 countries and regions. The Hong Kong Electronics Fair is getting bigger and bigger, attracting many overseas buyers. At this year’s fair, we are highlighting our USB Type-C adapters which allow users to connect their smart devices to any USB Type-C port. Buyers are very interested in testing samples at our booth. Six Apple stores and resellers have expressed their intention to buy our USB Type-C adapters on the first day of the fair, with total orders worth US$5 million being under negotiation.”
Louis Leung, Founder, President & CEO, Microdia Holdings Limited, Hong Kong

“Happycall is a leading manufacturer of cookware in Korea with a strong sales network in Asia, the Middle East and the US. To diversify our business, we launched home appliances at last year’s Autumn Electronics Fair. We have returned to this year’s fair with a bigger booth to promote our brand and to showcase Happycall high-speed blenders and premium slow juicers under our new brand – Prascati. Our main goal is to expand into the European markets. We have found potential business partners from European countries such as Germany, Italy and Russia who are large distributors. It is likely that we’ll form partnerships with them. It is necessary to have exposure at the Hong Kong fair as it is a major electronics show in Asia which helps us to build our brand image and to acquire business opportunities.”
Fabio Suh, Director, Overseas Business Unit, Happycall Co., Ltd., Korea

“With rich experience in sourcing photographic equipment and accessories for a large US retailer, I set up my own company three years ago to provide sourcing consultancy services. I have come here to help my three large clients to source automotive accessories, smartphone accessories, battery chargers and cables for photographic equipment, and new products. I have already had meetings with 17 suppliers, about half of them are my potential suppliers of smartphone lenses, batteries for digital cameras, shooting booths for product photography, and USB flash drives. It’ll take two to three months for my clients to make the final buying decisions. I have visited the Hong Kong Electronics Fair for many times because it is the only place in the world where I can find a diversity of electronic products and new, interesting and truly unique items. As the electronics industry is ever changing with a lot of innovations taking place, I’ll feel regret if I don’t come here.”
Chris Harlocker, CEO, Seaport Trading LLC, the US

“Based in Argentina, we have 1,200 outlets selling consumer electronics, mobile devices, home appliances and cellular phones. This is the first time I’ve attended the Hong Kong fair. It is easy to do business here because I can find a comprehensive range of electronic products that fulfill my requirements. I have already placed an order for smartphones and tablets worth US$150,000 with a Chinese mainland supplier. In addition, I have found 10-12 potential suppliers of power banks, DVDs, GPS, gaming products and mini audio systems, so I’ll get samples and quotations from them. The business matching service provided by the HKTDC is highly effective and helps me to find the right people to discuss business co-operation. I would like to come again next year.”
Pablo Romano, Commercial Director, Kilin SA, Argentina
