6 June 2014 – HKTDC Food Expo, Hong Kong International Tea Fair and the International Conference & Exhibition of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine & Health Products (ICMCM) will all open concurrently on 14 August 2014 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This year, HKTDC will also launch the first edition of Home Delights Expo, offering the latest electrical appliances and household products for sale to the public consumers.

Food Expo: The Banquet of Global Delicacies
Benjamin Chau, HKTDC Deputy Executive Director, said "Food Expo is hugely popular with the general public and has proved highly rewarding for trade buyers. Last year, the fair drew more than 1,140 exhibitors from 26 countries and regions, and attracted over 19,600 trade buyers and an astonishing 410,000 public visitors. Entering its 25th edition, Food Expo 2014 will be held from 14 to 18 August 2014 and we will introduce special activities to celebrate the food feast of the year.”

Gourmet Zone is one of the fair highlights and will open from 14 to 17 August. High-end food suppliers coming from all over the world will be categorised into four themes, namely Western Delicacy, Asian Cuisine, Chic & More and Sweet Delight, to showcase the global banquet to visitors. To celebrate the 25th edition of Food Expo, HKTDC will invite some well-known star chefs to share 25 dishes for the public to vote and the public will have chance to meet the chefs and taste the delicacies at the fair.

The fair is also divided into the Trade Hall and the Public Hall to target trade buyers and consumers respectively. The Trade Hall welcomes industry professionals on the first two days (14-15 August) for trading and exchanging market information, and also opens to public visitors on 16 August. Exhibitors and pavilions from around the globe such as Australia, the Chinese mainland, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Philippines and Poland, will showcase their latest food and beverages, high-end products and best-selling delicacies to potential trade buyers.
