Low Flow-resistance Conduit with Sharkskin Riblet Surface

Low Flow-resistance Conduit with Sharkskin Riblet Surface
Product Specifications:
Hydraulic resistance is a general problem in various flow systems which causes large consumption of energy. Some techniques have been studied such as drag reducing agents; however, the performance is not satisfactory.

NAMI has developed a new technique in which the coating with sharkskin microstructure can be applied onto the inner surface of pipes. This coating can reduce the hydraulic resistance performance so as to enhance the water flow rate.

Benefits:
  • 10% drag resistance reduction
  • Innovative “Reversed Printing” for actual implementation
Applications:
  • Inner surface of pipes
