The reveal of unusually high level of lead and other heavy metals in Hong Kong’s tap water worries the citizens that the water is not safe to drink. Noticing the demand of clean water, NAMI aims to provide cost-effective purifying method.
NAMI has developed biopolymers and nanomaterials based novel water filters to remove contaminants such as heavy metals, bacteria, organic pollutants and radioactive substrates. The filters can be in particle or membrane form. For membrane form, the removal capacity of the filter can be regenerated through a simple procedure after its performance deteriorates.
