As the flagship Healthcare Week events, the third Asia Summit on Global Health (ASGH) and the 14th Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair (Medical Fair) featured fruitful discussions on a wide range of topics including the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as an innovation powerhouse, complemented by exchanges on Chinese-Western medicine, aging and women innovators. This flagship event has confirmed Hong Kong’s status as an international R&D and business healthcare platform, where university research projects have been linked with potential investors and innovative medical devices promoted to international markets.

The inaugural International Healthcare Week, driven by Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will run from 1 to 15 November 2022, helping to promote innovation, investment and exchange by fully utilising Hong Kong’s strategic role as an innovation and investment hub for Asia’s healthcare industry. The two flagship events of International Healthcare Week are the second Asia Summit on Global Health (ASGH) co-organised by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and the HKTDC, and the 13th edition of the HKTDC Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair organised by the HKTDC.
Seven concurrent trade fairs close, attracting 16,000+ onsite buyers
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) brought its seven autumn trade fairs* together onto a single “physical + online” platform in 2021. The physical fairs ended today, attracting more than 16,000 industry buyers to visit in person and conduct business discussions, while the online fairs run until 6 November. To date, more than 3,000 meetings have been arranged while close to 12,000 buyers browsed products and conducted business discussions online.

Featuring more than 1,700 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions, the hybrid fairs present a comprehensive range of cutting-edge tech products, solutions, medical and environmental technologies, services and intelligence. The four-day physical fairs are held from today until Saturday (27 to 30 October) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), while the online fairs run until 6 November.

The physical fairs will run from 27 to 30 October at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), while the online fairs will be held from 27 October to 6 November as part of the Council’s continued effort to create diverse business opportunities for SMEs amid the pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to physical exhibitions around the world being cancelled or postponed. However, despite this impediment to economic activity, sourcing demand has continued to grow. The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) acted swiftly to change its strategy at the onset of the pandemic, actively developing new business channels and services. The HKTDC’s most recent online exhibition has concluded successfully, laying the foundation for a future hybrid model that combines physical and online trade fairs.
